About OPK9M 

The Ohio Police K9 Memorial pays tribute to the four-legged officers of Ohio who routinely put their lives in jeopardy for little more than a pat on the head. Not only does it honor those K9s that have died in the line of duty, but also those that have retired, passed away or are still serving their communities.

​Initially, the memorial consists of two granite walls bear the names of K9s who have served in the State of Ohio and a third engraved with the poem “Guardians of the Night.” The centerpiece of the Memorial is a bronze statue by Lena Toritch of Young Fine Studios atop a boulder was donated by Auxier. 


We are very excited to build this lasting remembrance of the K9s who have served our communities so well. These dogs do so much for us it is an honor to provide recognition of their lives.
